Chelsea come out with guns blazin'

Four goals. Four different goal scorers.

Chelsea have come out of the starting gates this new EPL season with a vengeance as poor Portsmouth was on the receiving end of a veritable whooping.

First half strikes from Joe Cole, Nicolas Anelka, and Frank Lampard (ok, so it was a penalty kick but still) set the tone early for a Chelsea side that looked to have an extremely solid defensive line and an equally creative (courtesy of Deco) midfield.

I know Sir Alex was talking up the relative age of the Blues this summer but the men showed no sign of age and looked like a side without weakness. Deco's spark could ignite a fire that may be hard to extinguish. By the way, it was his laser strike from 1000 yards out that notched the fourth goal and practically de-handed England National team keeper David James.

Chelsea have a chance to continue the tune up next weekend against last year's relegation skirters, Wigan...so a true test remains to be taken.
