Will Lionel Messi be in Beijing or New Jersey this August?
Lionel Messi is already playing spectacular football for Barca in tune up matches this pre season and will most likely challenge Cristiano Ronaldo for the world's soccer spotlight this year.
If early June's international friendly between the US and Argentina is any guide, Messi may be the difference between 50000 and 80000 fans showing up at the Meadowlands next month to watch the Catalan powerhouse take on the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium.
That being said, the battle between club and country continues as the Barcelona-based sports daily, El Mundo Deportivo, reported Monday that FIFA will most likely side with Argentina - but that FC Barcelona will simply dispute to the sport's highest appeal body, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, while taking Messi with them on their North American tour.
