Atlanta Silverbacks Defeat Charleston Battery 2-1

There were few southern gentlemen present at this grudge match as the Atlanta Silverbacks dropped the Charleston Battery by 2 goals to 1.

On a classic southern summer evening - where humidity was 800% and the ground was a steady 90 degrees Fahrenheit after a full day of baking under the sun, only a few brave souls, 2,234 to be exact, made it out to REMAX Greater Atlanta stadium to sit in the soup.

According to the Silverbacks press report, "the intense match saw a total of 21 fouls, four yellow cards, a straight red card, and numerous feuds." However in spite of the bad tempers, goals by Macoumba Kandji and Ansu Toure were enough to give Atlanta a much needed victory.

Charleston returns on the 16th with a busload of fans making the trip this time with them. The Battery have never won at Silverbacks Park and it is killing them.

Keep up the good work. This is a cool blog.
