In the on again off again saga that is Cristiano Ronaldo's bum ankle, it appears that he will in fact be undergoing surgery within the next week or so.
If and when he does finally go under the knife, he is set to be out of commission for at least six weeks, which could place him on the sidelines for Manchester United's debut against Newcastle on 16 August.
Here's to a speedy recovery for the Portuguese international; let us all hope that a solid ankle keeps him on his feet during the upcoming season.
